Truth (A True Story)

I left my home, I left my family
Sold off my mansion and those luxury cars
It was time to find truth and the meaning of everything
Cos money and fame only takes you so far.

So he set off walking across mountains and canyons
Evermore ragged but he just didn’t care
To each stranger he met there was one simple question
‘Where can I find truth, can you please show me where?’

Well 20 years later and he was still wandering
But getting nowhere by land or by sea
Till one day a hermit said “I heard all about you
If you’re looking for truth, then just follow me.”

He showed me a cottage said, “Knock on that door
You’ll find an old lady of 200 years
She has all that you need, she’s the fountain of wisdom
Her name is truth, she’s all you looking for
Yeah her name is truth, just knock on her door.”

For 13 long days and nights I sat there beside her
She spoke of the mystery, the true and the lie
Transfixed at her feet, the universe opened
The origin of everything, the how and the why

As I stood up to leave and thank her profusely
She beckoned me close, she beckoned me come
Will you tell them about me, she asked in a whisper
Then tell them I’m beautiful, tell them I’m young.
