Auf dem Pyramid-Label erschienen viele frühe Reggea- und Rock-Steady-Hits, darunter „007 (Shanty Town“, „The Israelites“ (1969 Nummer Eins der Britischen Hitparade) und „It Mek“, alle von Desmond Dekker. Viele weisse Jugendliche begeisterten sich damals für diese Musik. Für die Rastafarians (die ‚Israelites‘) war (und ist) das biblische Israel das Land der Erlösung. In der politischen Realität war es jedoch der Aggressor, was der Vision der Rastas widerspricht.
