Background

Steve empfindet große Liebe für dieses Land, in dem er einige Jahre gelebt hat und seine heutige Frau kennen lernte. Er ist deprimiert über die Entwicklung des Landes und die Korruption auf allen Ebenen. Mexiko, so Steve, ist ein wunderschönes Land mit großartigen, jungen, kreativen Menschen und einer tollen Kultur. Das mexikanische Fernsehen zeigt sogar Sendungen, in denen Intellektuelle diskutieren (sowas gibt es in England nicht). Es ist frustrierend zu sehen, wie dieses Land durch Korruption zugrunde geht. Polizisten lassen sich regelmäßig bestechen. Und selbst die Regierung stiehlt Milliarden von den Menschen.
Mexiko erinnert ihn an ein Theaterstück : die Polizisten in Uniform sind nicht wirklich Polizisten, sondern Kriminelle. Und die gewählten Politiker sind nicht wirklich Demokraten oder gegen Korruption. Es bricht einem das Herz zu sehen, mit welcher Brutalität der Drogenkrieg in Mexiko geführt wird und dieses Land kaputt macht.
